MY ACCOUNT

1. What is my account?

Your account is your personal section which gives you control on how DiscussHR should behave in order to better suit your needs. You decide on the type of information you want to make available to other members. You choose if you want to be notified by periodic e-mails when new content is posted. You opt or not for our newsletter, etc… “My Account” is made of three main sections.

  • View: The “View” tab is a summary of all the information designed to represent you within DiscussHR community. It is about “Who you are” and “Why are you a member”. It is your “public face” on DiscussHR, visible to other members who want to know more about you.·
  • Alerts: The “Alert” tab is a summary of all the content posted that are relating to my areas of interest only. You can change you areas of interest clicking “My Account” and select “My profile” which is located under the “Edit” tab. Scroll down and select the areas of interest of your choice.
  • Edit: The “Edit” tab gives the possibility to add/modify all your account information – your account settings, your profile, your notifications and DiscussHR newsletter.

2. Why should I create a profile?

Creating a profile allows you to participate in a growing HR Transformation community. Go to the page “Why Join?” (refer to the link at the bottom of this page) in order to learn more about the benefits of joining DiscussHR.

3. How do I create a profile?

Select “Create a new account” from DiscussHR home page and enter your Username and your email address. You will then receive an email providing you with a link giving you access to your profile. DiscussHR try to make it as easy as possible to login and so requires only a minimum of mandatory information. These fields include your first name, your last name, your email and “who are you?” (as to a HR Professional, an Adviser, etc…). However DiscussHR is an open community designed to encourage knowledge sharing and developing connections with similar users. While other fields are optional, filling them out will ensure you are more accurately represented in the global community of HR Transformation.

4. Can I change my Username?

Your Username cannot be changed once you complete the registration process.

5. Is registration free?

All collaborative content are free for DiscussHR members.

6. How do I update my email address

Click “My Account” and select “Account settings” which is located under the “Edit” tab. Enter your new email address and press the submit button at the bottom of the page.

7. How do I update my password

Click “My Account” and select “Account settings” which is located under the “Edit” tab. Enter your new password twice in the “Password” and “Confirm Password” fields. Then press the submit button at the bottom of the page.

8. I forgot my user ID or password. How do I log in?

If you forgot your user ID or your User Name, select the “Request new password” link located in the login section. You will be asked to enter your email address. Make sure you use the email you submitted when you have created initially your profile. You will then receive an email providing you with a link giving you access to your profile. IMPORTANT: This link is a one-time login, so it can be used only once. It expires after one day. After logging in, you will be redirected to the “Account settings” page so you can change your password.

9. How do I Add/Delete a photo?

To upload a photo, click “My Account” and select “Account settings” which is located under the “Edit” tab. Click Browse to locate it on your computer. Once you have selected the desired file, click Upload Photo to add the photo to your profile. Your photo will be displayed on your user profile page and available to DiscussHR members. To delete it go back to same place. A “Delete” button is made available. Select it and do not forget to press the submit button at the bottom of the page.

10. How many photos can I upload?

You can upload only one photo to your profile. Your photo will be displayed on your user profile page and available to DiscussHR members.

11. Are there any photo specifications or restrictions?

The maximum dimensions are 100x100 and the maximum size is 50 KB.

12. How do I update my profile?

You must log in with your user ID and password in order to update your profile. Then click “My Account” and select “My profile” which is located under the “Edit” tab. Add or change any sections appropriately and hen you've finished, click the “Submit” button to save your changes. You can easily check your updated information selecting the “view” tab.

13. Who can view my account?

Your profile is visible to all visitors of the DiscussHR community. However only logged n members can send you message.

14. What if I don’t want to share some information?

Only information you enter will be visible to other users. 15. Can I make my profile private?

All profiles are publicly accessible in order to make it easy for professionals to find similar peers and know a bit more about the authors of a content posted at DiscussHR. For this reason, you should avoid entering information in your profile that you do not wish to share with others.

16. Can users see when I view their profile?No. You can view user profiles anonymously.
