How to use Technology to make your HR Shared Service Centre more competitive
In order to compete with external providers HR shared service centres are under constant pressure to improve their service quality while cutting cost at the same time. Improving controls is also high on the agenda, but not yet always recognized as an important precondition to achieve the two other goals.
Better use of technology, particularly Self Service Applications, is one way to achieve these objectives, particularly if it goes in line with a redesign of the respective processes.
This paper - based on a case study, but deprived of project specific information - shows state of the art in Self Services and proposes a methodology for strategy development in HR shared services. While state of the art in technology is constantly changing, the methodology, tools, and strategic outlook are always very relevant.
