PeopleSoft HR vs SAP HR - can anyone help with a comparison?

My company is looking at implementing one ERP to replace various legacy HR systems globally.. As a result of acquisitions they have one half of the business on PeopleSoft (Oracle) and the other on SAP. I know a bit about SAP but not familiar with PeopleSoft.. can anyone help with a comparison?

For me SAP HR is more

For me SAP HR is more complex but easy to work especially when it comes to networking.

What is the latest version

What is the latest version of SAP HR package. What config does that take to install on my personal notebook? What configuration does that take to install on my personal notebook. My notebook has a config of 160GB harddisk and 2 GB RAM. Will that suffice?

People soft to SAP ECC 6 migration

Has anyone invloved in user acceptance testing for People soft to SAP ECC 6 migration? Could someone please share sample test plan?

HR basic requirements - ERP

If you look at the basic functionality of HR and the goals of meeting the requirements from the Organisation, Employees, and Position management, you are going to find that PeopleSoft (Oracle) will easily meet your requirements without complication, and also future maintenance will be easier compared to SAP ECC6. Visit the SAP and Oracle sites and you can see some basic info but with more than thirteen years working with SAP and PeopleSoft, I can tell you that most companies find PeopleSoft HR to be a lot of bangs for the mullah!

RE: PeopleSoft HR vs SAP HR - can anyone help with a comparison?

There are definitely pros and cons to both ERP packages, however it would be beneficial for you to get understanding of exactly how well both parts of your business are actually utilising these systems. Additionally, your HR system strategy may be a key factor in your decision making process.

Pro's & con's of PeopleSoft

PeopleSoft is the only HR ERP I have actively worked with. I have however been involved in a migration from PeopleSoft to SAP HCM, and I was under the impression that PeopleSoft has a more natural look-and-feel for the day-to-day HR professional.

On the technical side, PeopleSoft seems more open than SAP – it is easier for a developer to go on the database and search/modify data. This of course can be seen as a pro, as well as a con. ;-)

People soft to SAP migration

We have been assigned a talk to create a test plan for user acceptance testing. We are not familier with peoplesoft but do have knowledge of SAP. It apperas that you have been invloved in migration. Could you please share your experience? If you could provide some sample document, that would be of great help..

ERP; PeopleSoft vs SAP

PeopleSoft HR system is by all means better than SAP HR. The look and feel, the ease of use, and the ability to customize it to your company taste to meet user requirements is a lot easier than SAP. SAP is the world and PeopleSoft is in your world. I have managed both ways from SAP4.6 to PSoft 8.9 and from PS88 to SAP ECC 5. I can clearly tell you the applications are different, yet similar but the front end (GUI) and back end objects (Records, fields, apps, and tools) are better and easier with PeopleSoft. The greatest asset of SAP is in the integration of HR to Manufacturing, Distribution, and Financials. But I will go with PeopleSoft HR, especially if your company is not a manufacturing entity. If you want a more robust, easy to use, and an application that well rounded to deliver and meet the needs of HR users, SME, and Employees for today and tomorrow, I will go with PeopleSoft. If the goal is to be all one ERP shop then you need to assess where you are with Financials, distribution, manufacturing, crm and so on to decide. Left to HR, PS HR is clearly the bette application. Can u guess why Oracle bought PSoft?

SAP vs. Peoplesoft

I'm assuming that Oracle bought PSoft because it is more user friendly, and companies wouldn't need the expense to build modules to get what they need from it?

Just a thought?

Diane

Thanks

Thank you KAWE that certainly makes it clearer..
