Employee Self Services & Manager Self Services

In order to empower staff and line managers we are working on introducing Employee Self Services & Manager Self Services. Good suggestions and Ideas on the content that should be added in will add value.
Look & feel
Hi Rizwan,
I'm not sure how supportive are your managers about using Manager Self Service but I have seen in some cases managers being quite resitent to that. One reason being that they think HR is pushing back the work to them. I would personally clearly identify the benefits they will gain from it (quick access to data, visibility, less paper work...) and reinforce on them during your various communications with Managers.
Also focus on the look & feel. I have attended a HR Technology conference yesterday where someone was highlighting the fact that if this complicated and not pleasant to use, Managers might end up not using it a lot or really well. This could impact your data quality. With SAP I have seen many users complaining about its look and feel. Northgate Arinso actually ended up creating a user interface (called euHReka) aiming to improve users experience. Not sure what system you are using but if you have some flexibility there try to make it really easy to use ...think "Google like" design.
